课程介绍
3月9日，比利时安特卫普皇家艺术学院版画系主任彼得·波斯特尔斯教授在西安美术学院开启了木口木刻短期课程。该项版画技法曾在欧美盛极一时，直至20世纪初逐步式微。此后仅有少数艺术家延续着这项耗时费力的传统技艺。然而近年来，木口木刻技艺正迎来复兴，尤其是在中国艺术界。学生与青年艺术家将这一传统凸版印刷技术视为拓展版画艺术语言的重要契机，以此突破当代艺术普遍追求加速与大型化的潮流。通过系统学习该技法的各个环节，学员们得以掌握将其创造性运用于个人艺术表达的路径。
On 9 March, Peter Bosteels, professor and head of the graphic arts department at the Antwerp Academy of Fine Arts (Belgium), started a short course in wood engraving at the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. This graphic technique was once very popular in Europe and America until the beginning of the 20th century, after which it fell into decline. Only a few artists have continued to practise this slow and labour-intensive technique.
Nowadays, however, wood engraving is once again being used, especially in China. Students and young artists see this traditional relief printing technique as an opportunity to expand their graphic language, thus distancing themselves from the general trend of acceleration and enlargement. In this course, they are trained in all aspects of the technique, enabling them to use it creatively in their personal artistic world.
